It would also be great to have the option to sort the highlights in a custom order - making it easier to lump points together for essay writing, etc.

for example in pdf book, everything in chapter 1 goes top then chapter 2 etc.

This is pretty fundamental to me - I can't understand under what use case you would want highlights in highlighted order and not context within which they appear.
